DEMI KROMIDELLIS: Ancestral Silence
Through large-scale chromogenic prints, Kromidellis explores heritage, memory, and identity. As a third-generation Australian of Greek descent, her work reflects on cultural belonging shaped by diaspora. In 2024 and 2025, she travelled to Greece to document her grandparents’ abandoned homes—silent markers of migration and family history. These images meditate on belonging, dislocation, and the fragile ties to ancestral homes.
Werrin Wile GAN, soft possum gowns: Kelly Koumalatsos
Kaliopi Christine (Kelly) Koumalatsos, a senior Wergaia/ Wemba Wemba woman, draws on her Aboriginal and Greek heritage to express her cultural and political perspectives through the contemporary revival of possum skin traditional practices.
This Working Life: from the collection
This Working Life, drawn from photographs within the Horsham Regional Art Gallery collection, explores how Australian labour has shaped everyday life and national identity, capturing the diversity, dignity, and changing nature of work across decades.
