SHADOW BEINGS JUANA BELTRAN
Shadow Beings is based on a powerful experience in the Australian desert; a place harsh and inhospitable, but also of stark, arid beauty. After spending time in its vast expanses, Juana Beltran discovered a deep connection to this land.
This resulted in a deep reflection upon the impermanence of being and all physical and psychological states, but also a realisation of the importance of the relationship we have with our environment and how such an intimate connection can be transformative.
Shadow Beings looks at the placement and meaning of shadows, the reflection of our other selves; an idea that came to her after she witnessed a lonely shadow form from the plains of the desert where extreme and paradoxical emotions are felt from within.
