Extending the view: Landscapes from our region’s public collections

Image: Eugene VON GUERARD, Crater of Mount Eccles, Victoria 1866-68, lithograph, 45 x 61cm, Purchased through the Horsham Art Gallery Trust Fund, 2008.

In response to the exhibition View from here: Highlights from the National Gallery collection, important works from the Horsham Regional Art Gallery collection and loans from neighbouring regional collections expand the range of iconic western Victorian landscapes on display.

These paintings, drawings, and prints are an important part of our region’s cultural identity, accentuating and extending the rich interpretations of our landscape from significant artists including Eugene von Guerard and Nicholas Chevalier.

Artworks featured in this exhibition will be on loan from the Hamilton Art Gallery, Glenelg Shire Council, Warrnambool Art Gallery and Ararat Gallery TAMA (Textile Art Museum Australia).
