Join us for the opening of the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2025, one of Australia’s most prestigious and popular celebrations of contemporary photographic portraiture.
Presented by the National Portrait Gallery, the National Photographic Portrait Prize showcases outstanding work by emerging and established photographers from across the country. Featuring portraits of well-known personalities alongside everyday Australians, the exhibition highlights the richness, diversity and vitality of photographic practice in Australia today.
For the 2025 prize, finalists were selected by an esteemed judging panel comprising writer and broadcaster Benjamin Law, Serena Bentley, Senior Curator at the National Portrait Gallery, and Leigh Robb, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
This exhibition is supported by the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program, an Australian Government program aiming to improve access to the national collections for all Australians.
